Portsmouth Comic Con. 5th-6th May 2018.

A Comic Con? In my home town? With lots of guests and artists? AND a Superman exhibition?!?! YES PLEASE.

When I first found out that Portsmouth was going to have a major Con I was intrigued and then I found out what and who was going to be there I was excited!

Now, the Con is going to have plenty of great things to look, and I will get to those soon but first let’s just see what and who from the world of Superman will be there and what I am really looking forward to:

The exhibition runs from the character’s first appearance in Action Comics #1, taking in the Golden and Silver Age right up to the present day.

“All Star Superman” is one of my all time favourite stories and I cannot wait to thank one of it’s creators and get a few things signed.

Louise Simonson has written for many publications including some fantastic Superman stories and one of the many talented minds that worked on “The Death Of Superman” storyline and most recently helped create a beautiful piece in the anniversary issue of Action Comics #1000. I have a few questions ready so I hope to get some time with her. Walt Simonson has also had a vast comic career so I am sure another few signings and questions might be happening!

Now, I appreciate the work of Stan Lee (who doesn’t?) but I can’t wait to see some art from the brilliant Alex Ross. Now, I don’t know if it will be Marvel or D.C art that gets displayed but I will admire it nonetheless.

There are lots of panels going on over the weekend and I will be going to a few of them. The Superman 80th Anniversary cannot be missed and to hear Quitely and Simmonson talk about my hero will be a joy.

So, for a Superman fan there is going to be a lot to see and do but the whole Con looks like it is going to be a great event for anyone who is slightly geeky!

I am so ready!

Virtual Reality, celebrities, merchandise, workshops, artist alley, props from Ghostbusters and Gremlins and lots more to be announced! It is going to be a full on weekend. Here is a full list of what’s planned so far.

I really hope this Con is a huge success as it deserves to be and I want it back every year.
